ARIEL WINTER
Alex Dunphy on ABC's "Modern Family"
Ariel Winter, who started her acting career at the age of four and has already won two SAG Awards for her work on ABC's "Modern Family," will next be seen in the independent film "Excision," an official selection to the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Prior to that, she had the female lead in the sequel to the hit film "Fred the Movie," entitled "Night of the Living Fred." Winter also recently starred in "The Chaperone," opposite WWE star Triple H (aka Paul Michael Levesque), and finished a successful run on stage in the 19th Annual Young Playwrights Festival's production of "Platform 9."
Notable voiceover and animated credits include recording her starring role in the Dreamworks Animation feature, "Mr. Peabody & Sherman." She is also reprising her role as Marina the Mermaid in the animated series "Jake and Neverland Pirates" for Disney Junior. Other voiceover projects include the role of Sofia in "Sofia the First" for Disney Channel, Gretchen on Disney Channel's "Phineas and Ferb," and voicing a character in the hit animated film "Horton Hears a Who."
Film credits include the thriller "Duress," opposite Martin Donovan, Warner Bros.' "Speed Racer," "Opposite Day," "Nic & Tristan Go Mega Dega" and "One Missed Call," in which Winter plays the killer in the film. She started her motion picture career at age seven in director Shane Black's hit cult film, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Michelle Monaghan. Previous television credits include guest-starring roles on such hit TV shows as "Criminal Minds," "Crossing Jordan," "Nip/Tuck" and "Bones."
When she's not working, Los Angeles native Winter is an avid singer, and she is working on her first solo album. Even at her young age, she has cultivated an interest in building an awareness of the environment and is involved in several charities and organizations, including the Creative Coalition, the Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry and WWE's anti-bullying campaign, Be a Star.
Winter resides in Los Angeles with her family.
