Shawn Butler on ABC's "General Hospital"
Sean Blakemore joined the cast of "General Hospital" in February 2011, playing the role of Shawn Butler, the Balkan's ex-henchman, who recently befriended Carly Jacks.
Blakemore has starred in film, theater and television. The NAACP Theatre Award recipient garnered rave reviews for his performances in "Saturday Night at the Palace" and "The Marriage." Some of his film credits include "Columbus Day," "Motives," "Motives 2," "Blackout," "Restraining Order" and "Woman Thou Art Loosed." His expansive television credits include "Lie to Me," "NCIS," "Stargate Universe," "Days of Our Lives," "Bones," "CSI: NY," "The Unit," "Into the West," "The Shield," "Cold Case," "The Young and the Restless," "Monk," "ER" and "The District."
Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Blakemore moved to the west coast to continue work as an actor. In his spare time, he enjoys painting, having won several awards for his work which has been featured and sold in galleries throughout the world. He is also a humanitarian who, over the past 15 years, has worked with Habitat for Humanity, My Friend's House, LA.org, Portfolio Gallery Mentorship and Feed the Homeless LA. Blakemore is a firm believer that "We must get involved in order to evolve." He uses both his experience and success to advocate for youth across southern California and the U.S.
