CAMERON MATHISON
Ryan Lavery on the ABC Television Network's "All My Children"

Cameron Mathison joined the cast of “All My Children” in January 1999 as Ryan Lavery. After leaving the show for one year, Mr. Mathison returned in 2003 to reprise this fan-favorite role.

Born and raised in Canada, Mr. Mathison attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree, with a 3.7 GPA. He was also captain of the Red Men Basketball team (he tied Terrell Owens in the celebrity slam-dunk competition at the NBA All-Star weekend). A member of the Celebrity Players Tour, which travels to over 16 cities across the U.S., Mr. Mathison can sometimes be glimpsed by fans on their local golf courses, as well as on the Golf Channel, carrying an average handicap of five.

Mr. Mathison made his feature film debut in the 1998 Miramax release “54,” and was also in the Canadian independent film “Washed Up.” His television credits include “The Drew Cary Show,” “CSI,” “JAG,” “What I Like About You,” “F/X: The Series” and the television movie “Any Mother’s Son,” with Bonnie Bedelia. He can also be seen on the ABC Family Channel’s “See Jane Date.” He hosted ABC’s live world premiere of Walt Disney’s animated feature, “Tarzan,” SOAPnet’s 2001 Daytime Emmy red carpet special and “E! Wild On!” specials. He guest starred on ABC’s “Hope & Faith,” hosts SOAPnet’s original reality series, “I Wanna Be a Soap Star,” served as a correspondent for the television show “Extra,” and has been a guest entertainment anchor for the CW Morning News. In September 2007, Mr. Mathison appeared on ABC’s hit series “Dancing with the Stars” and is now a correspondent with ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

In 2005 “All My Children” celebrated its 35th anniversary with a one night benefit on Broadway to support Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS. Since its inception, Mr. Mathison has served has host for the event, which has become a network wide initiative including talent from the entire ABC daytime lineup. Now in its fifth year, the event has raised over one million dollars for BC/EFA, due in large part to Mr. Mathison’s dedication and countless hours in supporting this organization well above and beyond his annual hosting duties.

In 1999 Mr. Mathison received the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer, and  Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2004. He appeared on the “33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” broadcast as the show’s “Fan Zone” host and was a presenter at the “40th Annual Country Music Awards.” In 2008 Mr. Mathison served as co-host for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on ABC.
