We also welcome the Broadway cast of "Sister Act," performing a feel-good medley of "Raise Your Voice" and "Sunday Morning Fever." Plus for the first time this season, the seven couples will perform their second dance of the night together in a Broadway-themed group dance to a medley of "Big Spender" from "Sweet Charity" and "Money Money" from "Cabaret," on "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, OCTOBER 24 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
On Tuesday, the entertainment continues with another dazzling performance from Kristin Chenoweth who will perform "Lessons Learned" from her new album, "Some Lessons Learned," accompanied by pro dancers Tony Dovolani and Dasha Chesnokova. Country music entertainer Martina McBride returns to the ballroom with a spectacular performance of "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," the hit single from her new album, "Eleven," accompanied by pro dancers Chelsie Hightower and Val Chmerkovskiy. Also this week, "Macy's Star of Dance" features a special and meaningful piece, a bow to three of the great streets of Broadway, choreographed by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Kenny Ortega and starring actor and recording artist Corbin Bleu, on "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show," TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth is an accomplished singer and actress of stage, television and film. She recently released her debut country album, "Some Lessons Learned." Chenoweth is known for her Tony Award-nominated turn as the original Glinda the Good Witch in Broadway's "Wicked" and her show-stealing, Tony-winning performance in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." She recently received her second Emmy nomination for her role as April Rhodes on "Glee." She also earned an Emmy for her role as Olive Snook on "Pushing Daisies." Next, she stars in the upcoming ABC series "GCB."
The Broadway musical "Sister Act" recently celebrated its 200th performance. Based on the mega-hit feature film, "Sister Act" features an original Alan Menken and Glenn Slater score with a vast inspiration of musical styles from Motown, soul and funk to great big disco anthems and Barry White-inspired musical comedy. The musical is produced by Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment and is currently in its 8th smash month on Broadway, where it is directed by Jerry Zaks and features choreography by Anthony Van Laast. This past year "Sister Act" was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
With one of the most spectacular voices in any genre of music, Martina McBride is a four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, three-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year and GRAMMY(r)-winning recording artist with more than 18 million albums sold and 24 Top 10 singles, including six that hit
No. 1. The breadth of her talents -- as a recording artist, producer, songwriter and concert entertainer -- made her an in-demand performer and personality. McBride recently released her 11th studio album (first album on Republic Nashville), "Eleven," which includes her first new music since 2009 and current single, "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," which is climbing the charts. Recently she was nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, and her incredibly sweet and powerful voice will be joining the lineup of performers on this year's "45th Annual CMA Awards," airing November 9 on ABC.
Kenny Ortega's work as a director, choreographer and producer and is known and loved by millions around the world. He began his career at age 13 performing in area plays, until eventually landing a leading role in the original San Francisco touring production of "Hair." He would become the most sought after choreographer for the industry's biggest musical artists, including Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Gloria Estefan, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Bette Midler and The Pointer Sisters, to name a few. Ortega not only is known for his stage choreography but also for his film choreography. Film choreography credits include classics such as "Dirty Dancing," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Pretty in Pink" and "St. Elmo's Fire." As a director, he directed Disney Channel's "High School Musical" and "High School Musical 2," which were both the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies to date when they premiered. Ortega has been the recipient of numerous awards, including three Emmy Awards.
Corbin Bleu, a gifted young talent who has achieved a remarkable level of success as both an actor and recording artist, continues to evolve with each new project. Bleu is best known for starring in the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie "High School Musical" and its sequel, alongside Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. In 2007 he released his debut solo album entitled "Another Side," and in 2009 he released his second studio album, "Speed of Light," where he collaborated with some of the top producers and writers in the industry. Most recently Bleu was the lead character, bodega-owner Usanvi, in the critically acclaimed hit Broadway musical "In the Heights." He can next be seen on the big screen in Rotimi Rainwater's "Sugar," and has also recently wrapped another starring role in the Lionsgate feature film, "NURSE 3-D."
