"The View" Bar & Grill Officially 'Opens,' May 30

Music Sensation Madonna Makes Her First Visit to "The View," Live, June 8

ABC's "The View" (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET) will debut a spectacular array of new series and segments throughout summer 2005 and showcase some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

"Men's Day Wednesday" kicks off, live, June 1, as some of film and television's hottest male stars co-host each Wednesday in June alongside Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones Reynolds, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. First up is James Denton, hunky plumber Mike Delfino from ABC's "Desperate Housewives." On specified dates, "Men's Day Wednesday" will also incorporate male-related "Hot Topics," live remotes, male makeovers, plus one show featuring all-male guests and another with an all-male audience.

Viewers won't have to make a reservation to get into "The View Bar & Grill," which officially opens Memorial Day, May 30. This innovative new summer series finds different celebrity chefs providing grilling tips and preparing tasty meals right outside "The View" studio every Friday morning. Viewers will also be provided with information on the best beverages for summer.

Pop music sensation Madonna is scheduled to make her very first visit with the women of "The View" live on Wednesday, June 8. The multi-talented superstar will be promoting her latest children's book, "Lotsa De Casha."

Additional June highlights include:

* Rosie O'Donnell returning to co-host "The View," Friday, June 10.

* The Backstreet Boys returning to perform a song from their new album, Tuesday, June 14.

* The co-hosts unveiling the new summer "View" 2005 mug on Monday, June 13.

* "Have Your Say Today" - which finds the co-hosts periodically discussing "Hot Topics" submitted by viewers from across the country.

"The View," now in its eighth season, features a dynamic team of five women who share their no-holds-barred opinions and colorful conversations. The chemistry of co-hosts Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones Reynolds, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues. Since its launch, "The View" has received 18 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show. The show has received numerous nominations, including seven consecutive nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host. "The View" is seen live MONDAY-FRIDAY (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET; CLOSED-CAPTIONED; in stereo, TV-14) on ABC. Visit "The View" on the Web at abc.com (keyword: theview).
