News Release

One year ago, the economy teetered on the edge of collapse. Today the economy is recovering, though it's not at all clear how sustained or strong a recovery it will be.

Last September "World News" profiled small businesses about to go under because they couldn't get credit; previously creditworthy Americans who couldn't get a car loan; small business owners forced to sell; and Big Three autoworkers who watched their plants shut down. Beginning Monday in a special series, "From Wall Street to Main Street: Where Things Stand," "World News" will revisit these stories and the lessons learned and report on what life is like for these individuals, families and businesses one year later.

Monday
Betsy Stark reports on jobs - Where can you find them now and how do they pay?

Tuesday
David Muir looks at how retirees are faring with their diminished nest eggs

Wednesday
Bill Weir focuses on the housing market - Will it lead or stall the economic recovery?

Thursday
Bianna Golodryga revisits small businesses trying to navigate this new economy

Friday
Charles Gibson re-introduces four GM workers from Morain, OH. All of them were laid off, all of them have returned to school and each is coping with a new reality.

"World News with Charles Gibson" airs at 6:30 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jon Banner is the executive producer.
