T.J. Winick is a New York based correspondent who contributes to ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news service, as well as "Nightline" and weekend editions of "Good Morning America" and "World News." He is also a substitute anchor on the network's overnight broadcast, "World News Now."
Most recently Winick contributed to extended coverage of the gulf oil spill, reporting from Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama.
While in Washington, Winick covered news in and around the nation's capital. He covered the 2008 presidential campaign, and reported from the New Hampshire primaries in January and the Republican convention in September. He also reported on the Utah mine collapse tragedy and the California wildfires in 2007 for NewsOne.
Before joining ABC News, he worked as a general assignment reporter for WBZ-TV in Boston, covering a range of stories, including the Catholic Church abuse scandal, the Station Nightclub fire, the Red Sox World Series title and the Big Dig. From 2000-02 Winick was a reporter at New England Cable News, also based in Boston. Before that assignment, he was a reporter for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh and also for WBBH-TV in Ft. Myers, FL. During his career in local news, he reported on the devastating tornadoes in Kissimmee, FL and Somerset County, PA. He has also produced for the History Channel and "America's Most Wanted."
Winick graduated from Colby College in Waterville, ME with a degree in government. He is a native of Marblehead, MA and currently resides in New York City.
