Eric Horng is an ABC News correspondent based in Chicago. In this role he reports for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms, including "World News with Charles Gibson," "Nightline," "Good Morning America," ABC News Radio, ABC News NOW and ABCNEWS.com. He has also served as a substitute anchor for "World News Now."

Horng has covered a number of major stories, including the Minneapolis bridge collapse, the Northern Illinois University shooting, historic floods and tornadoes in the Midwest, wildfires in California, the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and the Shawn Hornbeck kidnapping case. On election night in 2008, Horng filed reports from Chicago''s Grant Park, the sight of President Obama''s historic victory speech.

Horng joined ABC News in August 2003 as a Chicago-based correspondent for NewsOne, the network''s affiliate news service. He reported from the scene of several high profile stories for NewsOne, including the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, the legal battle over the fate of Terri Schiavo in Florida, the child molestation trial of Michael Jackson in California and the Virginia Tech massacre. In 2005 he was a key part of NewsOne''s coverage of Hurricane Katrina, filing numerous reports from Louisiana during and after the storm.

Before joining ABC News, Horng was a national correspondent based in Los Angeles for CNN Newsource. From July 2000 to August 2003, he provided packaged and live reporting for CNN''s networks and affiliates. From July 1999 to June 2000, he was a correspondent for CNN in Atlanta and filed reports for CNN''s southwest bureau and political unit. He reported extensively on the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, the Columbia shuttle disaster, the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the Elian Gonzalez custody battle and the Academy Awards.

Horng graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
