Castle
Season Premiere Monday, September 20, 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET

When viewers first met Richard Castle -- a famous mystery novelist and divorced father raising his teenage daughter, while being kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother -- he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, a bright and aggressive homicide detective with a fascination for odd and offbeat cases stemming from the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother. Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle's writer's intuition and Beckett's creative detective work. With Beckett as his muse, Castle used his newfound experience in the field as fodder for his latest novel and bestseller, Heat Wave.
During this past season, Castle and Beckett's relationship has grown stronger as they've dodged bullets, captured killers, and solved countless murder cases in their unorthodox partnership. But by the Season Two finale, Beckett's new relationship with a robbery detective has pushed Castle away, forcing them both to confront their feelings for one another. When Castle leaves to finish writing his second Nikki Heat novel, Naked Heat, Beckett has to watch him walk away, unable to express her true feelings and unsure whether he will return to the precinct.
The series stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as Detective Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers.

Lost
Tuesday, 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET

A 2008 recipient of the prestigious Peabody Award, and awarded the 2005 Emmy and 2006 Golden Globe for Best Drama Series, "Lost" returns for its final season of action-packed mystery and adventure -- that will continue to bring out the very best and the very worst in the people who are lost.
Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, leaving 48 passengers alive and stranded on a remote island in the South Pacific. The survivors include a diverse group of people from different walks of life -- a doctor, an escaped fugitive, a con man, an Iraqi interrogator, a married Korean couple and a man formerly confined to a wheelchair who is now inexplicably healed. As the castaways attempt to get home, flashbacks (and forwards) illuminate their troubled lives before and after the crash, as the island they find themselves stranded on begins to slowly reveal its mysterious nature. Faith, reason, destiny and free will all clash as the island offers opportunities for both corruption and redemption... but as to its true purpose? That's the greatest mystery of all.
The survivors discovered that the island holds many secrets, including a mysterious smoke monster, polar bears, housing and hatches with electricity and hot & cold running water, a group of island residents known as "The Others," and a mysterious man named Jacob. They've found signs of those who came to the island before them, including a 19th century sailing ship called The Black Rock, a downed Beechcraft plane from a failed drug run, the remains of an ancient, four-toed statue, as well as bunkers belonging to the Dharma Initiative -- a group of scientific researchers who inhabited the island in the recent past. The survivors also encountered a freighter stationed off the island that some thought would lead to their rescue, but ultimately almost caused their extinction. And Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and Claire's son, Aaron -- known as the Oceanic 6 - actually escaped the island and made their way back into the world. But their stay turned out to be short-lived since the island wasn't through with them, yet.
With only 18 original hours left until the final episode airs in 2010, the island's violent shifts through time were ended by Locke when he traveled off-island in an attempt to persuade the Oceanic 6 to return. Back on the island, the survivors' stay in late '70s Dharmaville was over when their covers were blown and they were accused of aiding "The Others," and Sayid was gravely wounded during their flight. In addition, Ben killed Jacob at Locke's request. But since Locke's body was found to still be inside the coffin, exactly who - or what - is John Locke? And if Juliet was successful in detonating the hydrogen bomb, was she able to reset time, allowing Oceanic Air 815 to land safely in Los Angeles, or was the island destroyed along with all of its inhabitants?
The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against all odds if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their journey, nothing is what it seems, and danger and mystery loom behind every corner, with even those they thought could be trusted turning against them. Even heroes - and leaders -- have secrets.
"Lost" stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Emilie de Ravin as Claire, Michael Emerson as Ben, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Ken Leung as Miles, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Terry O'Quinn as Locke and Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Season Premiere Sunday, September 26, 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET

As the iconic "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" returns for an eighth season, deserving families in need of a newly rebuilt and decorated home will not be the only ones undergoing a major renovation. The "Extreme Makeover" team goes through a makeover of its own as three new designers are added to the mix. In addition, viewers will see twists and surprises in special, themed episodes and unique ways that design team leader Ty Pennington will deliver his traditional morning wakeup call. The show will also extend its reach to include whole communities in making dreams come true.
Joining the series for Season 8 will be Leigh Anne Tuohy (a successful interior decorator, best known for being portrayed by Sandra Bullock in 2010's Oscar-winning film, "The Blind Side"), Xzibit (a tireless performer in music, film and television) and Jillian Harris (a successful designer for restaurants, residences, furniture and fashion who previously was featured as "The Bachelorette" in Season 5). All three were "Get on the Bus" celebrity volunteers during Season 7 and were so incredibly moved by their experiences that they asked to be a part of the design team.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" continues to unite the people selected with their favorite entertainers, athletes, politicians and role models. Participants this season will include Cedric the Entertainer, Christie Brinkley, Kristen Chenoweth, Derek Hough, Shaquille O'Neal, Katy Perry, Raven-Symoné and the kids from "Modern Family."
Special themed shows will include an innovative tears-free episode featuring top comedians, guaranteeing that the audience will be laughing instead of crying throughout the episode. Another, themed "New York! New York!," will feature a Broadway-like production with the entire blue shirt crew and design team singing and dancing while the house is being demolished. Also, the show ventures into new territory by doing a different kind of "door knock": In one instance, a family discovers they're the latest recipients of a new home while surrounded by thousands of cheering fans at Yankee Stadium.
In addition to rebuilding homes, the EMHE design team will be rebuilding other structures, including a school for promising youth in Baltimore, Maryland. Viewers and fans may notice that some of the homes may not be as extreme in size as in the past, yet all of the builds will continue to be "extreme" when it comes to innovation, quality and being environmentally friendly.
Ty Pennington leads up the team of designers in a race against the clock to turn people's wildest dreams into reality. Each episode is self-contained and features a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred volunteer workers who all have just seven days to totally rebuild and decorate an entire house -- every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping. The result should be a decorator's delight, if it can be done in time.
The show has won two Emmy Awards(r) for Outstanding Reality Program, plus two People's Choice Awards, the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program, an NAACP Award as Outstanding Reality Series, and a Service to American Leadership Award presented by the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation. The show was named the 2010 Contractor of the Year for Residential Contractor magazine and also received the 2010 Innovator Award from NATPE, recognizing achievement in unscripted television.
Along with the three new designers, Leigh Anne Tuohy, Xzibit and Jillian Harris, the returning designers include team leader Ty Pennington, with Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol and John Littlefield. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, of Endemol Holding, and executive-produced by Brady Connell & George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America.

Jimmy Kimmel Live
Weeknights, 12:05-1:05 a.m., ET

Emmy-winner Jimmy Kimmel serves as host and executive producer of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC Television Network’s distinctive late-night talk show. The show features a diverse lineup of guests, including celebrities, athletes, comedians, politicians and human interest subjects. Along with a light-hearted and recognizable cast of characters, a hip house band and comedy bits in Kimmel’s inimitable style, the show additionally offers one of the funniest, freshest monologues on television today, drawing from all forms of topical media. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” often features elaborate, innovative stunts such as having notables like J.J. Abrams and Quentin Tarantino guest-direct an entire episode; traveling the show to Detroit for a week’s worth of Super Bowl-themed shows; conducting a special episode from a hospital bed with interviews featuring the doctors on staff of ”Grey’s Anatomy,” as they tended to Jimmy’s snakebite wound; and constructing a state-of-the-art performance stage in the center of Hollywood Boulevard to showcase A-list music acts.
The show originates from Disney’s El Capitan Entertainment Center, located on Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of LA’s star studded Walk of Fame. This illustrious location is featured prominently in the show as Kimmel showcases the unique character of Hollywood. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights at 12:05 a.m. in most markets.
In its fifth season, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is enjoying a ratings boost and has featured such high profile regular guests as George Clooney, Britney Spears, Jennifer Garner, Robin Williams, Shaquille O’Neal, Clay Aiken, Eva Longoria, Eminem, Diane Sawyer, Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, Jessica Alba, Simon Cowell, Janet Reno, Kiefer Sutherland, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kelly Ripa, Jack Black, Teri Hatcher, Sir Ian McKellen and Mariah Carey; plus musical guests Coldplay, 50 Cent, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Destiny’s Child, Jane’s Addiction, Toby Keith, Gwen Stefani, Audioslave, Nelly, Motley Crue, Green Day, Barry Manilow, Franz Ferdinand, Lionel Richie, The Wiggles and Alanis Morissette since its premiere on Super Bowl Sunday, January 26, 2003.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” is taped later in the day than other late-night shows – at 7:45 p.m., PT. This allows the show to be extremely topical -- able to respond to the news of the day more quickly than the competition. Kimmel applies his irreverent wit to politics, television, the media, the FCC, popular culture – everything is a target. A weekly comedy segment called “Unnecessary Censorship” pokes fun at the FCC’s crackdown on the media by unnecessarily censoring clips from TV news, political speeches, reality TV and nature shows. Other regular comedy segments include Cousin Sal’s hidden camera pranks, number one Michael Jackson fan Jake Byrd’s “man on the street,” feisty Aunt Chippy on location, parking lot security guard Guillermo’s Hollywood Gossip Round-up and adorably clueless Uncle Frank’s coverage of red-carpet premieres.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jill Leiderman serve as executive producers and Jason Schrift and Douglas DeLuca as co-executive producers. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is shot live in front of a studio audience and produced by Jackhole Industries in association with ABC Studios.
