Critically acclaimed and lauded for revitalizing the television sitcom, “Modern Family” is also quickly cementing itself as a culturally defining series. A recipient of the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, “Modern Family” returns to the ABC Television Network for its third season.
Jay Pritchett sits at the head of a large and unconventional family. Now in his second marriage to his gorgeous young wife, Gloria, Jay has been given something of a second chance. Still, old habits are hard to break, and it’s trial by fire as he tries to adapt to life with the same passion and vigor that Gloria exhibits, which are matched by her precocious 12-year-old son, Manny. There are some culture clashes, a few misunderstandings, but also plenty of sweet victories along the way.
Jay’s grown daughter, Claire, and her husband, Phil, are the proud parents of three kids with whom they want that open, healthy, honest relationship. It’s not always easy, especially when you have Haley, a teenage daughter who’s growing up a little fast, Alex, a too-smart-for-her-own-good middle daughter and Luke, a scatterbrained boy. Add to this that Phil is just a big kid himself, even if he does always have the best intentions. Claire is the anchor, trying her best to run a tight ship and determined not to let her kids have the rebellious childhood she had.
Claire’s brother and Jay’s grown son, Mitchell, is busy raising an adopted daughter, Lily, with his long term partner, Cameron. Opposites attract in this household, with Cameron having a wonderfully big personality and maybe a flare for the dramatic, while Mitchell is more buttoned-down. They balance each other out, and these doting fathers are relishing their roles as parents developing their own little family.
These three unique families give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted, embrace of the modern family.
“Modern Family” stars Ed O’Neill as Jay, Julie Bowen as Claire, Ty Burrell as Phil, Sofía Vergara as Gloria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron, Sarah Hyland as Haley, Nolan Gould as Luke, Ariel Winter as Alex, Rico Rodriguez as Manny and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily.
The series is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television in association with Levitan Lloyd Productions. Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd are executive producers/creators.

Two-time Emmy winner Patricia Heaton stars in this warm and witty single-camera comedy about raising a family and lowering your expectations.
Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck is a harried wife and working mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor to try to get her family through each day intact. Her work life's no easier, as she struggles day to day as the least successful sales woman at the town's only surviving car dealer.
Frankie's unflappable husband, Mike, is manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average - yes, most definitely average - family.
Between juggling shifts and picking up fast food dinners eaten in front of the TV, Frankie and Mike raise their kids with love, humor and solid Midwestern practicality. Axl, the oldest, is a jock slacker who eats them out of house and home and walks around the house in his underwear. Then there's Sue, their extraordinarily ordinary teen daughter, who fails at just about everything she tries with great gusto. This year she's entering high school and will attempt to not only navigate the raging waters of school life but co-exist with Axl, who is not too thrilled with his little sister being at the same school. And last is Brick, their quirky fourth-grader, who reads constantly, whispers to himself and unapologetically marches to the beat of his own drummer.
But through all the madness shines a loving family, and together, the Hecks are putting THE MIDDLE on the map.
"The Middle" stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie, Neil Flynn as Mike, Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue and Atticus Shaffer as Brick.

Shark Tank
Fridays, 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET
The Sharks are back for a third season, continuing their search to invest in the best products and businesses that America has to offer. The critically acclaimed "Shark Tank" gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to make their dreams come true, and possibly make a business deal that will make them a millionaire. Season Three continues to make TV history, with the Sharks offering over $6.2 million of their own money in investment deals to bankroll a creative array of innovative entrepreneurs. The season premiere of "Shark Tank" airs FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2012 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of HDNet and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks, returns as a Shark and appears in all 13 episodes. Also, Lori Greiner, a prolific inventor of retail products and often referred to as the "Queen of QVC," will join the show as a guest Shark investor for three episodes.
Returning "Sharks" joining Cuban and Greiner are real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, technology innovator Robert Herjavec, fashion and branding expert Daymond John and venture capitalist Kevin O'Leary. The panel of five Sharks will hear pitches of the best business and product ideas from some of America's brightest entrepreneurs, ranging from start-ups from stay-at-home moms and dads, to simple yet brilliant ideas in a wide range of areas including children's products, music, sports, automotive, and even the nightclub scene.
There will be appearances by several celebrities. Joining entrepreneurs in their pitches will be indie-pop singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and former NBA champion and Hall of Fame basketball player Bill Walton. Business experts that will provide advice by phone to the entrepreneurs include Apple Computers co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Jim Koch, co-founder of Samuel Adams beer. Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull, appears in one of the follow-up stories, which allow viewers the opportunity to see how investments led to success.
The entrepreneurs who dare to enter the "Shark Tank" must try to convince the tough, self-made, multi-millionaire/billionaire tycoons to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they desperately need to jumpstart their business ideas. But the Sharks have a goal, too -- to get a return on their investment and own a piece of the next big business idea.
In exchange for the Sharks' cash investment, the entrepreneurs give up a percentage of their companies' equity. When the Sharks hear a great idea, they're ready to fight each other for a piece of it. If and when the Sharks are confronted with a really top-notch idea, and more than one of them want to sink their teeth into it, a war between them erupts. Then the once-desperate entrepreneur can rejoice that the Sharks find value in their product, service or business. But if the pitch is poor, the Sharks will tear into the ill-prepared presenters and pass on the idea with a simple, "I'm out!," sending them scurrying for the exit, having wasted the Sharks' precious time.
In Season One, the Sharks, using their own money, made investment commitments with entrepreneurs adding up to more than $5 million. During the show's second season, they made investment commitments totaling close to $4 million.
There were also deals that were rejected by the Sharks. Some of these turned out to be missed opportunities when the disappointed entrepreneurs defied the odds and managed to persevere with their businesses.
Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of "Shark Tank," based on the Japanese "Dragons' Den" format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. The series is from Sony Pictures Television.

DAYMOND JOHN
"Shark" on ABC's "Shark Tank"
A success story, an industry leader, a young entrepreneur, a man who has reached and surpassed new heights of commercial and financial success -- just some of the classifications used to describe Daymond John. Over the last 19 years, John has evolved into one of the most successful fashion icons in business today. Known as the "Godfather of Urban Fashion," he is also regarded one of the most sought after branding experts and motivational speakers in the country.
John's creative vision helped revolutionize the sportswear industry in the 1990s. As founder, president and chief executive officer of FUBU -- "For Us, By Us" -- he created distinctive and fashionable sportswear and a host of related gear. FUBU's phenomenal success made mainstream apparel companies realize the potential for fashionable sportswear that appeals not just to trendsetting urban youth but to mainstream teens as well. In addition, John owns and operates several other clothing brands.
John was born in the New York City borough of Brooklyn but spent his childhood in the Hollis neighborhood of Queens during the 1970s. An only child, he grew up in a single-parent household headed by his mother, a flight attendant for American Airlines who often held more than one job. John's first foray into the apparel market came when he wanted a tie-top hat and was put off by the price. He began making the distinctive tie-top hats in the morning and then selling them on the streets of Queens in the evening hours. He and his friend sold $800 worth of hats and realized their ideas had definite potential. They created a distinctive logo and began sewing the FUBU logo on hockey jerseys, sweatshirts and t-shirts. John lured some longtime friends into the business and asked his old neighborhood friend, L.L. Cool J., to wear a t-shirt in a photograph for a FUBU promotional campaign in 1993.
John and his mother mortgaged the home they collectively owned for $100,000 in start-up capital. Soon the home was turned into a makeshift factory and office space. FUBU officially launched in 1992 when John and his partners traveled to an industry trade show in Las Vegas. Buyers liked the distinctively cut, vibrantly-colored sportswear; John and his partners returned to Queens with $300,000 worth of orders. FUBU soon had a contract with the New York City-based department store chain Macy's, and they began expanding their line to include jeans and outerwear. A distribution deal with Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung allowed their designs to be manufactured and delivered on a massive scale. As CEO and President, John guided FUBU to a staggering $350 million in revenues in 1998, placing it in the same stratosphere as such designer sportswear labels as Donna Karan New York and Tommy Hilfiger.
In the world of marketing, John is often called a branding genius. Fortune 500 Companies flock to him for advice and consultation, so much so that he has formed a branding corporation, Shark Branding, separate from his diverse apparel businesses. Shark Branding handles the high demand for his advice on branding, product placement and marketing. John has perfected the methods to get companies, brands and products ingrained into the social consciousness. Using product integration, sponsorships and unique events, Shark Branding organically advertises products in the hottest music videos, on the most popular television shows, and with the most influential celebrities.
John's newest book, The Brand Within: How We Brand Ourselves, from Birth to the Boardroom, is the second nonfiction book in the best-selling Display of Power series. The Brand Within examines the loyalty of relationships companies seek to establish by attaching celebrities to their brands and the instantaneous impulses consumers exhibit when purchasing a product.
In his first book, Display of Power: How FUBU Changed a World of Fashion, Branding and Lifestyle, which was named one of the Best Business Books of 2007 by the Library Journal, John relays the story of his awe inspiring journey and provides a roadmap for those who aspire to succeed in business and in life.
In recognition of his contributions to fashion and the face of American business, John has been recognized as Brandweek Marketer of the Year (1999), and honored with the Advertising Age Marketing 1000 Award for Outstanding Ad Campaign (1999), NAACP Entrepreneur of the Year Award (1999), Crain's Business of Forty Under Forty Award (2002) and Ernst & Young's New York Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2003). In 1999 FUBU the Collection became the first recipient of the first ESSENCE Achievement Award given to a company. In addition, FUBU was a 2007 finalist for Inc. Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year Award.?

KEVIN O'LEARY
"Shark" on ABC's "Shark Tank"
Kevin O'Leary is opinionated, ruthless, hungers for big deals and loves to take control, yet he made his millions helping children learn how to read.
Kevin's success story starts where most entrepreneurs begin: with a big idea and zero cash. From his basement, he launched SoftKey Software Products. As sales took off, Kevin moved to headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts and went on an industry consolidating acquisition binge.
From 1995 to 1999 he bought out almost every one of his software competitors, including Mindscape, Broderbund and the Learning Company in the industry's first vicious public hostile battle. Shareholders loved his take-no-prisoners, cost cutting style and fueled him with billions to do his deals.
In 1999 Kevin sold his company to the Mattel Toy Company for a staggering 3.7 billion dollars, one of the largest deals ever done in the consumer software industry. To keep his money working hard, he took control of his wealth from his lackluster money managers and founded his own mutual fund company, O'Leary Funds. He raised hundreds of millions of dollars from investors who share his "get paid while you wait," yield oriented, value investing philosophy. He shares his tips and tribulations with a national television audience and turns the Street upside down in the process.
As a self-proclaimed "Eco-preneur," Kevin looks hardest for investments that make money - and are environmentally friendly. When he's not squeezing the market from his office in West Palm Beach, he travels the world looking for new opportunities to deploy his capital. He is a founding investor and director of Stream Global, an international business outsourcing company. He is on the investment committee of Boston's prestigious 200-year-old Hamilton Trust, and is the chairman of O'Leary Funds. He also serves on the executive board of The Richard Ivey School of Business.
Kevin escapes on weekends with his family to his luxurious cottage that spreads over prime Canadian wilderness on the shore of an ancient glacial lake.

Hank
Wednesdays from 8:00-8:30 p.m., ET
Sometimes scaling back is the best way to get ahead. A legendary entrepreneur in the sports retail world, Hank Pryor (Kelsey Grammer) and his wife, Tilly, have been living the high life in New York City. That is until Hank is forced out of his CEO job and has to downsize and move his family back home to the small town of River Bend, Virginia.
A self-made man, Hank is used to being the boss. But now that he’s lost almost everything, is he up for the even bigger challenge of being a husband and father? While Tilly regrets having to leave the glitz of New York City to move back to her hometown, Hank is gung-ho to relaunch his career in the place where it all began for him. Unfortunately this also means having to spend way too much time with his brother-in-law, Grady, who delights in Hank’s recent misfortunes. Hank struggles to find common ground with his kids -- offbeat son Henry, who would rather play with action figures than toss a baseball with his dad, and daughter Maddie, a hip, New York City teen in whose eyes Hank can do no right. But every great businessman knows that the key to success is to turn setbacks into opportunities. It may take a while for this corporate giant to figure out how to mingle with the little people -- like his family -- but Hank’s up for the challenge, a man who feels he is destined to return to greatness. And he is. It’s just not the greatness he imagined.
Starring Kelsey Grammer, this hilarious family comedy mixes genuine, heart-warming moments with Grammer’s trademark blustery humor. The series is written by “Everybody Loves Raymond’s” three-time Emmy Award-winning Tucker Cawley, and co-executive produced by Grammer along with Mike Clements (“The Life & Times of Tim”) and Emmy Award-winning producer Tom Werner (“The Cosby Show,” “Roseanne,” “Grace Under Fire”).

Cougar Town
Season premieres Tuesday,
February 14 at 8:30 p.m., ET
Courteney Cox stars as Jules Cobb in her Golden Globe®-nominated role as a divorced mom in her forties facing the often humorous challenges, pitfalls and rewards of life’s next chapter. Along for the journey is her college-aged son, her ex-husband, her boyfriend/neighbor and her friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family... even if they have a funny way of showing it sometimes.
This season Jules and "the cul de sac crew" find themselves involved in everything from weddings to babies and everything in between. Grayson builds up the courage to finally ask Jules to marry him and, while all seems good with their relationship, the pitter patter of little feet throws everything – and everyone -- for a loop. Meanwhile, Bobby seems to have found love with his girlfriend, Angie (Sarah Chalke), Laurie is focused on a new business venture decorating crazy cakes, Travis has to deal with some unexpected challenges while away at college (his doctor makes him wear a helmet!), and Andy leads the entire gang on an all-out war against the neighborhood punks.
"Cougar Town" stars Courteney Cox as Jules, Christa Miller as Ellie, Busy Philipps as Laurie, Dan Byrd as Travis, Josh Hopkins as Grayson, Ian Gomez as Andy and Brian Van Holt as Bobby.
Bill Lawrence ("Scrubs," "Spin City") serves as executive producer/writer/director, Kevin Biegel ("Scrubs") is executive producer/writer, and Courteney Cox and David Arquette are executive producers. "Cougar Town" was co-created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel and is produced by ABC Studios.
