MIKE TIRICO
ABC Sports' golf Host/NBA Host Mike Tirico, one of sports television's most talented and versatile commentators, has been the host of ABC Sports' golf coverage since 1996. His work earned him a 2001 Emmy nomination as top host/play-by-play. Last season, Tirico added the role of Studio Host for ABC's NBA telecasts, including the NBA Finals. He also serves as a play-by-play voice for ESPN's NBA coverage. In addition to his golf and NBA duties, Tirico is a play-by-play announcer for college football on ABC and ESPN. He is also a contributor to ESPN Sportscenter, radio, magazine and internet ventures. Since joining ESPN in 1991, after four years at WTVH TV in Syracuse, Tirico has covered many major sporting events, including the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, College Football National Championship games, NBA Finals, NFL Draft and Daytona 500. Tirico received his bachelor of arts degree in political science and broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 1988. He is married and lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with his wife and two children. |
