IAN BAKER-FINCH
ABC Sports Commentator Ian Baker-Finch, winner of the 1991 British Open, serves as an expert analyst and hole reporter for ABC Sports' golf broadcast team. Baker-Finch resides in Florida with his wife, Jennie, and daughters Hayley and Laura, and works more than 20 broadcasts each year for ABC Sports, in addition to several events he broadcasts for ESPN. Baker-Finch turned pro in 1979 and won the first of his 16 championships in 1983 at the New Zealand Open in Auckland. His first major victory in Australia came at the 1987 Australian Matchplay Championship at Kingston Heath. Among his credits, he has won on all four major tours, U.S. Tour, European, Japan and Australasian Tours, including the 1988 Australian Masters, the 1989 Colonial Invitational (USA) and the 1993 Australian PGA. Baker-Finch's boyhood dreams were realized when he won the British Open at Royal Birkdale in 1991. Baker-Finch plays the occassional tournament these days and hosts many charity and corporate golf events around the U.S. He also works in the golf course design business from his family home in North Palm beach, Florida.
