ED CUNNINGHAM
Expert commentator, College Football, ABC Sports Ed Cunningham, one of the top young football analysts in the industry, signed on with ABC Sports as a college football color analyst in August 2000. Cunningam has served as a color analyst on the network’s coverage of Arena Bowl XIV. Previously he was the color analyst for TNN’s Arena Football League coverage. Joining ABC Sports from CBS, Cunningham spent three seasons (1997-99) as a color analyst for that network’s regional college football telecasts. Prior to joining CBS, he served as a color analyst for KUTP-TV’s coverage of the Arena Football League’s Arizona Rattlers from 1995-99, while still playing in the NFL. During that time he also provided weekly commentary on KGME Radio, Phoenix. From 1993-95 he hosted “On the Line with Ed Cunningham” and weekly Sunday night sports talk shows on KTAR Radio, Phoenix. Drafted 61st overall by the Phoenix Cardinals in 1992, Cunningham started four seasons as an offensive lineman with the Cardinals from 1992-95. He played his final season, 1996, with the Seattle Seahawks. Cunningham was a captain/offensive lineman on the 1991 Washington Huskies’ National Championship football team. While at Washington, he was voted All-Pac 10, second-team All-American, and was a two-time Academic All-American. He also co-produced, wrote and narrated a video with Prime Sports Northwest on the Huskies’ National Championship season. Cunningham, who lost 80 pounds in the transition from offensive lineman to broadcaster, graduated from Washington University with a degree in business finance in 1991. Born in 1969 in Alexandria, Virginia, he now resides in Los Angeles, California. |
