Anchor/Correspondent, ABC News NOW

Vinita Nair was named anchor/correspondent for ABC News NOW in December 2007. In this role, Ms. Nair anchors live coverage and news briefs for ABC News NOW, ABC’s digital network which delivers live breaking news, headlines every half-hour and original programming.

Prior to joining ABC News, Ms. Nair was lead evening reporter and anchor at KWGN-TV, the CW affiliate in Denver. She joined the station in July of 2004 and reported on a wide range of topics including the Jon Benet Ramsey murder investigation and the Bailey, Colorado School Shootings. Previously Ms. Nair was an anchor and reporter for KOLN/KGIN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she anchored daily morning and afternoon newscasts.

Ms. Nair began her career in television news at WGEM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Quincy, Illinois, where she worked as a general assignment reporter. She has also worked for WYCC-TV, Chicago’s Public Access Network and the Illinois’ Evanston Community Cable Channel.

Prior to pursuing television journalism, Ms. Nair was both a writer for Today's Chicago Woman, and a reporter for Talk Radio News in Washington D.C.

Ms. Nair is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Illinois. She is originally from Colleyville, Texas.
