CHRIS CUOMO
Co-anchor, "Primetime"
ABC News Senior Legal Correspondent

Chris Cuomo is co-anchor of ABC's "Primetime," a role he has held since April 2004. He was also named Senior Legal Correspondent in November 2005, reporting on law and justice issues for ABC News. Since joining ABC News in 1999, Mr. Cuomo has been a versatile correspondent, reporting for numerous platforms as well as co-anchoring "Downtown," "Primetime Monday" and occasionally "Good Morning America."

Most recently Mr. Cuomo has provided in-depth reports on the Duke Lacrosse investigation, as well as an hour-long report on the West Virginia miner tragedy. His extensive reporting from New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and from Texas during Hurricane Rita esamined the legal implications of forced evacuations and included some of the earliest looks at the storms' impact on the poor.

In February 2006, Mr. Cuomo sat down for an exclusive interview with Joran Van der Sloot, the lead suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance. He has also covered other high-profile cases, including the Martha Stewart trial, the Kobe Bryant case and the Laci Peterson murder investigation.

On "Primetime" his investigative stories on crime and corruption have continued to distinguish him. He won the prestigious Loeb Award for business reporting - a first for a newsmagazine - for a story on illegal small business insurance practices. His profile of inspiring 12-year-old poet Mattie Stepanek was recognized with a News Emmy Award, making Mr. Cuomo one of the youngest correspondents to receive this award in network news history. His news and feature work have received acclaim from more than a dozen different journalistic and other organizations.

Mr. Cuomo has reported extensively on domestic issues such as drug policy and related developing issues confronting today's youth. His investigations include a report on abuses by charitable hospitals -- which earned him an Emmy nomination -- unjust practices by drug companies and an examination of laws restricting mental health coverage for children. In addition he has done several pieces on the juvenile justice system, including hour-long reports on youth detention centers and a wilderness drug diversion program.

Prior to joining ABC News, Mr. Cuomo was a correspondent for the Fox News Channel and Fox Broadcast Network's "Fox Files," where he reported on a wide range of stories, focusing on controversial social issues. He also served as a political policy analyst for Fox News Channel and, prior to his affiliation with Fox, made similar appearances on CNBC, MSNBC and CNN.

Mr. Cuomo is a licensed attorney. A New York native, he received his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law in New York City and his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
