As senior vice president of Affiliate Relations, John Rouse oversees all affiliate relations activities and departments for the ABC Television Network, including station relations, affiliate marketing, affiliate operations and affiliate research and development. In order to maximize the distribution of ABC Television Network, he negotiates affiliation agreements as well as collaborative programming, promotional, operational and digital initiatives with the 230 ABC affiliated and owned stations throughout the United States. During Mr. Rouse's tenure, the ABC Television Network and its affiliates have worked together to establish agreements for inventory and promotion exchanges, programming contributions, as well as local enhancements to ABC.com and ABCNews.com. New programming has also been cleared on the Network with Mr. Rouse's oversight, including "The View," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Good Morning America Weekend." Prior to joining the ABC Television Network in 1996, Mr. Rouse was vice president, Central division of Disney-ABC Domestic Television, responsible for overseeing all syndication sales activity in that region of the United States. This included the sales and launch of both first-run and off-network series, as well as movies and specials. He began his career in 1985 with KNBC-TV in Burbank, California, in the station's advertising sales division. He subsequently joined MGM/United Artists' syndication division in 1987 as an account executive, and was subsequently promoted to manager, Eastern Division. A 1985 graduate of the University of Southern California, Mr. Rouse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He represents The Walt Disney Company on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southern California and also serves as president of the Board of Trustees for Chandler School. He lives in Pasadena, California with his wife, Kelly, and children, Katherine and Spencer. |
