"THE VIEW: SPECIAL EDITION" BREAST CANCER THEME SHOW
FOCUSING ON EARLY DETECTION, PREVENTION AND
BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS, LIVE, OCTOBER 8

For the second consecutive year, ABC's "The View" and Yoplait, a division of General Mills, will partner this month in the continuing fight against breast cancer.
On Wednesday, October 8, "The View" will air a live "special edition" theme show focusing on breast cancer awareness, early detection, prevention and breast cancer survivors. This year marks the 10th anniversary milestone of Yoplait(r)'s signature pink lid promotion, "Save Lids to Save Lives"(r). Yoplait's commitment to the fight against breast cancer is really about the power of many - asking individual people to come together for one important cause and to make a difference. In September and October, special pink lids will top Yoplait yogurt cups, and for every lid saved and mailed in through December 31, 2008, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure(r), up to $1.5 million with a guaranteed minimum donation of $500,000.

"This year's campaign is a celebration of what has been accomplished in the fight against the disease in the past 10 years, but also an important reminder of the work that still needs to be done," said Tammy Sadinsky Martin of Yoplait. "Every lid really matters, and with the help from people across the country, we can raise up to $1.5 million for the cause this year."

Additionally, Yoplait will be providing an audience giveaway in October to support breast cancer awareness month and to recognize Yoplait's collaboration with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982 that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the global breast cancer movement was launched. Today Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cure. Owing to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, they have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill their promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. For more information about Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast health or breast cancer, visit www.komen.org or call 1-877-GO-KOMEN.

For more than 19 years, Yoplait has been committed to raising awareness of women's issues, including breast cancer, heart health, osteoporosis prevention and fitness. To date, Yoplait and its parent company, General Mills, have donated more than $19 million to the breast cancer cause. In addition to the "Save Lids to Save Lives" campaign, Yoplait is a member of Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Million-Dollar Council and is the National Series Presenting Sponsor of the Komen Race for the Cure, the largest series of 5K run and fitness walks in the world.
